Gareth Jarman
Gareth Jarman is Head of International HR Consulting & Change at Fenton Private Office, the advisory arm of Fenton International. He advises boards, employers and HR leaders on international HR strategy, organisational change, people operating models and the governance frameworks that support effective people decision-making across multiple jurisdictions.
Gareth Jarman is a senior international HR adviser with more than 25 years’ experience helping organisations design, implement and govern people strategies across complex, matrix international businesses. He advises boards, executive teams and HR leaders on international expansion, organisational transformation, change management, talent strategy and the people operating models needed to support cross-border growth.
Gareth has held senior HR leadership roles across the UK, the Middle East and Asia, with experience spanning defence, engineering, financial services, investment banking, aviation and professional services. He has advised boards, CEOs, CHROs and senior HR leaders on organisational design, culture change, performance management, international workforce planning, TUPE and business transfers, and people governance during periods of growth, transformation and M&A.
His career includes senior roles at Arup, General Dynamics UK, Standard Chartered Bank, Radius and Accenture, where he led international HR functions, supported board and executive decision-making on people matters, delivered large-scale organisational change, and implemented HR transformation programmes across complex multi-jurisdictional businesses.
He has particular experience of the HR and people challenges that arise during international expansion, restructuring, M&A and cross-border workforce deployment — including extensive operational experience in the Middle East (UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman), Asia (Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong) and Europe (EU member states).
Gareth holds an MSc in HR and Industrial Relations from Alliance Manchester Business School, is an Honorary MBA Alumni of HKUST Business School and holds the Queen’s Commission from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst through the British Army Reserves. He is Chair of the Institute of Directors Mid Wales Region, serves as an Ambassador and has recently been awarded a Fellowship for services to the IoD community and business.
Gareth founded Gentium International in 2018 to provide independent consulting, investigatory support and international HR advisory services to organisations facing employment challenges.
Gareth’s experience is particularly relevant to Fenton International because many senior cross-border matters sit at the intersection of HR strategy, people governance, tax, mobility, payroll and reward.
Gareth combines deep operational experience in international HR, organisational change and people governance with a practical understanding of how people decisions are shaped by commercial priorities, regulatory requirements, cultural context and risk management. At Fenton, he advises employers and boards on people strategies that are commercially effective, internationally workable, legally compliant and properly governed.
